The second night of the GOP national convention in 2016 is seeing yet another revolt against the nomination of Donald Trump. Yesterday, the Colorado delegation walked out in protest against Trump’s push toward the nomination. Tonight, the Alaska delegation is protesting Trump by engaging in an appeal of the awarding of nominating votes from their state The leader of the Alaska delegation is promising to take up time “as much as we can”, even “to stop the convention and file an appeal”. The Alaska delegation has effectively wrecked the schedule of pro-Trump speeches for the evening television presentation, including a surprise speech by Donald Trump himself that was to have been shown at 9:00 PM.
Preacher begins the speeches by declaring that the Republican delegates have been chosen by God. That may be news to Republican voters.
The President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship says that Americans should vote for Donald Trump because Trump props up fight promoters. Trump calls on the phone, he says, and says, “Hey, good luck with the fights tonight,” and that will translate into how he runs this country as President.
